The Racing Lab High-Performance Charge Cooling Intake Manifold is engineered to deliver consistent and reliable thermal control for B58 engines operating under increased boost and sustained load.
At the core of the system is a 120mm bar-and-plate charge cooler core, selected for its superior thermal capacity compared to traditional tube-and-fin designs. While tube-and-fin cores prioritise lightweight construction and rapid heat exchange, they are more prone to heat saturation during prolonged high-load operation. In contrast, the bar-and-plate construction provides greater thermal mass and improved resistance to heat soak, allowing intake air temperatures to remain lower and more stable during aggressive street driving and circuit use.
The intake manifold features a fully CNC-machined billet aluminium housing, delivering excellent structural strength, pressure resistance, and optimised internal airflow. An integrated thermal insulating spacer further reduces heat transfer from the cylinder head into the intake system, improving overall thermal efficiency.
The Racing Lab High-Performance Charge Cooling Intake Manifold is fully compatible with external port injection (PI) and is supplied as standard with a dedicated fuel rail for top-feed auxiliary injection. This allows direct integration of auxiliary injectors without additional fabrication, providing a clean and scalable fueling solution for modified setups.
Performance validation was conducted on a BM3 Stage 2 Toyota GR Supra A90 at Sydney Motorsport Park (SMP). The test vehicle was equipped with the Racing Lab High-Performance Charge Cooling Intake Manifold in conjunction with a High-Performance All-Aluminum Radiator and dual High-Performance Auxiliary Radiators. Testing was carried out at an ambient temperature of 28°C.
Back-to-back datalog results show a reduction in peak intake air temperatures from 69.0°C (factory configuration) to 54.5°C. In addition, peak oil temperatures under sustained circuit load were reduced from 126.8°C to 117.0°C, reflecting the overall effectiveness of the upgraded intake and engine cooling systems in managing thermal load during track operation.
Developed for performance-focused road and track use, the Racing Lab High-Performance Charge Cooling Intake Manifold provides improved thermal stability and enhanced reliability under sustained load.
