The ERGE 3D Printed Midpipe replaces the restrictive factory centre section on the BMW G80/G81 M3 and G82/G83 M4 with a freer-flowing dual-pipe layout and a precision 3D-printed X-crossover. By removing the factory secondary catalyst section and optimising the crossover geometry, it is designed to reduce restriction, increase exhaust-gas velocity and give the S58 a cleaner, sharper and more engaging character.

Why this midpipe is different
✓3D-printed X-crossover
The crossover is formed as a purpose-designed 3D-printed section rather than a simple welded intersection. This allows ERGE to use a smoother, more controlled internal flow path and more precise crossover geometry than conventional fabricated pipework.
✓Removes the restrictive secondary-cat section
The factory G8X centre exhaust uses additional secondary catalyst sections. The ERGE midpipe replaces this area with freer-flowing pipework, reducing restriction and allowing exhaust gases to move through the system more efficiently.
✓Improved gas velocity and turbo response
Lower restriction through the centre section helps exhaust gas leave the engine more freely. On a turbocharged S58, that can translate into a more immediate throttle feel, stronger response and better support for tuned power levels.
✓Cleaner, more balanced S58 sound
The X-crossover blends the two exhaust banks more effectively, helping smooth the tone and reduce the harsh, uneven character often associated with modified S58 exhaust systems. The result is deeper at low RPM and cleaner and more aggressive as revs rise.
Performance advantage
The main performance benefit comes from reducing restriction in the factory centre section. With fewer flow restrictions and a more efficient crossover, the engine can evacuate exhaust gases more easily. This is especially valuable on tuned or higher-boost S58 cars, where the factory exhaust becomes a larger part of the overall flow limitation. The ERGE design is intended to support stronger response and more consistent power delivery without turning the car into an excessively loud straight-pipe setup.
Sound character
This is not designed simply to make the car louder. The 3D-printed crossover changes how the two banks interact, giving the S58 a fuller and more coherent exhaust note. Low RPM remains deep and substantial, while the upper rev range becomes sharper, cleaner and more exotic.
Design & construction
The standout component is the 3D-printed crossover, which allows a complex internal shape that would be difficult to achieve accurately with conventional cut-and-weld fabrication. The rest of the system follows a dual-pipe layout shaped around the G8X underbody, with mounting and connection points positioned for the original vehicle architecture.
Fitment & installation
Designed for BMW G80/G81 M3 and G82/G83 M4 S58 applications using the corresponding factory exhaust layout. Professional installation is recommended to ensure correct alignment, clamp position and underbody clearance.
